Other School News

Parents and students it is time for our annual Mathathon. This is a great opportunity for us as a school to give to a great cause like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The permission slips for the Mathathon will be going home with your child the week of March 8 th, and will need to be returned by March 11 th before spring break. When we get back on March 22 nd , the Mathathon will officially begin. It will run through Friday March 26 th . Your child will be given the math booklet to complete and the donor form that will be filled out when you receive a donation. This year if you receive a donation in the form of a check, could you please have it made out to St. John School. We will then make one check to send to St. Jude’s. If you have a child in Pre-K, they will not have any Mathathon obligations, but if you would like to support another student that is participating that would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions about the Mathathon please feel free to contact me, Cayce Corley at corley@stjohnschool.net . Thanks for your continued support and I hope to have a successful Mathathon!

Box Tops Update

The 8th Grade pulled it out at the end and won the Spring Box Tops contest with over 1000 Box Tops turned in!  We wish to thank Sixth (2nd), Pre-K (3rd) and Fifth (4th).  We surpassed our goal of 4000 and turned in over 4200!

We found some interesting info on the Box Tops website.  Last year, St John's received more than $1200 from Box Tops which was more than 93% of the schools in Oklahoma and more than 87% of the schools in the US.   Great job everyone!

Box Tops Marketplace

Another way to help our school is by using the Box Tops Marketplace web portal to make online purchases from over 100 stores including Walmart, Sears, Target, Land's End and Kohl's.  Using the Marketplace is free and stores donate a portion of your purchase to our school.  Contact Cindy Burke at 335-3744 for more info.

Lenten Fish Fry

The Knights of Columbus hold a fish fry every Friday except Good Friday during Lent from 5-7 p.m.  Our Home School Association offers pasta and salad dishes.  All proceeds are used for scholarships to a local seminarian and local college students.  The HSA receives a portion of the proceeds for our school.  Come on out and enjoy a great meal and visit with friends and family.  We have kid friendly movies and activities in the Braymer Room too!
